About Jennifer
Jennifer Schmidt brings over 10 years of experience in the events industry, where she currently is the Lead Designer at Archive Rentals. Based in Los Angeles, Jennifer is deeply passionate about the worlds of entertainment, music, and sports. With her finger always on the pulse of the industry, she researches new venues, discovers emerging vendors, and forecasts design trends, ensuring that every project she touches is both innovative and relevant. Her work keeps her connected to the vibrant creative network of Los Angeles, where she has built a reputation as both a visionary designer and a trusted collaborator.
Though Jennifer was born in Los Angeles, she has lived throughout Southern California. This experience gave her a firsthand understanding of how each county, city, and even neighborhood carries its own unique culture and influences design trends in distinct ways. That insight allows her to tailor her work to reflect the individuality of each client and location.
Jennifer’s creative journey began in fashion. She attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM), where she studied Merchandise Marketing, and launched her career at Nordstrom at just 18 years old.
Over 13 years, she advanced through sales and management before finding her niche in visual merchandising. It was there, while producing in-store experiences like celebrity appearances and master classes, that her passion for events was sparked. She went on to serve as West Coast Visual Merchandiser for Valentino, overseeing flagship locations from San Francisco to Beverly Hills and Hawaii. Her role immersed her in high profile events ranging from fashion shows to charity galas, solidifying her love for design that brings people together.
In 2019, while planning her own wedding, Jennifer discovered Archive Rentals on her venue’s preferred vendor list. By chance, a position opened for a Los Angeles–based designer, and she interviewed for the role from an airport in San Francisco after a week of merchandising. The fit was instant, and she eagerly transitioned into the event world full-time. Since then, Jennifer has been instrumental in expanding Archive Rentals’ presence in Los Angeles, designing standout events while building lasting relationships with clients and industry partners.
Outside of work, Jennifer treasures time with her husband Dylan, their daughter Brooklyn (named after the Dodgers) and their French Bulldog, Wednesday. Whether skateboarding, attending vintage car shows, enjoying concerts, or taking a much needed mid day pilates class, she embraces creativity in every aspect of life. Known for her forward-thinking style and infectious enthusiasm, Jennifer often says she has “the best job in the world” and those who work with her know she truly means it.
